Owning a piece of music history means holding the very tools that shaped the sound of generations—and this 1958 Fender Precision Bass is exactly that kind of instrument. Now available at Haggerty’s Music, this vintage treasure—serial number 028275—is a June 1958 model that captures a transformative period in Fender’s design evolution. It has been professionally refretted for superior playability, and while most components remain original, the pots currently installed are CTS units dated 1995. The instrument is housed in its original tweed hardshell case, making it an exceptional find for both serious players and collectors.

This P-Bass features the newly introduced three-tone sunburst finish, applied to an alder body, and complemented by the iconic gold anodized aluminum pickguard—a striking combination unique to Fender basses from 1958–1959. The one-piece maple neck, marked "6-58" on the heel, boasts a soft “V” profile and retains its vintage-correct 7.25" radius, now enhanced by a clean refret. The original split single-coil pickup delivers the signature P-Bass tone—thick, warm, and full—supported by a clean wiring harness and CTS pots. All other hardware, from bridge to tuners, remains factory-original and era-correct.
