Designed by Andy Powers (best known for transforming Taylor Guitars), the A-Type draws inspiration from San Diego’s surf, skate, auto, and music scenes. This version features the PF42 pickups — a Partial Faraday single-coil set designed for enhanced brightness and punch — making it an excellent choice for players who want a bit more edge and articulation in their tone. The asymmetrical fretboard radius, Powers Electric neck carve, and jumbo frets contribute to effortless playability, whether you're chording or bending high notes.
