Raw, raucous, and road-worn, the Gibson Custom Shop 1963 SG Junior in Silver Fox is a stripped-down tone machine, built for players who crave timeless tone paired with old-school attitude. This lightweight, no-nonsense electric guitar channels the spirit of early garage rock, punk, and blues with unmistakable Custom Shop craftsmanship and a bold Murphy Lab Light Aged finish.

Crafted from solid mahogany, the SG Junior’s iconic double-cut body is finished in a rare Silver Fox nitro lacquer, aged by Murphy Lab for authentic vintage wear and patina. A matching mahogany neck delivers fast, fluid access across the 22-fret Indian rosewood fingerboard, inlaid with vintage celluloid dots.

At the heart of the SG Junior’s sound is a dog-ear P-90 pickup, housed in a cover and mounted in the bridge position for maximum punch, clarity, and grind. From crisp cleans to snarling overdrive, this pickup delivers a sonic character that’s as iconic as the SG silhouette itself. Backed with premium sonic hardware, this guitar maintains authentic tonal response and smooth control.

Rounding out the hardware is a lightning bar wraparound bridge, aged nickel parts, Kluson tuners with white buttons, and a period-correct white pickguard. Black top hat knobs with silver foil inserts add the final vintage-correct touch.
