The Legacy 855e is a 12-string acoustic-electric guitar designed to inspire longtime Taylor players and fans, paying tribute to the 12-string models that helped establish Taylor's reputation in its early years. This model brings back the classic Jumbo body shape, ideal for delivering the rich, full sound associated with 12-string guitars. Crafted with solid Indian rosewood back and sides and a Sitka spruce top, the Legacy 855e is powered by traditional X-bracing, a favorite of Bob Taylor during the company's early days. It produces a clear, balanced tone with warm lows, chime-like trebles, and the shimmering octave overtones that make 12-strings so distinctive. The large body provides impressive power while maintaining a sensitive response, ensuring a wide dynamic range that reacts beautifully to the player's touch.

This guitar pairs Taylor's modern, comfortable neck design with classic features like a straight-ear peghead with a rosewood veneer and a mustache bridge. Its appointments reflect the clean, minimalist aesthetic of Bob Taylor's original designs, featuring white binding, a three-ring rosette in green abalone, a faux-tortoiseshell pickguard, and a gloss finish on both the body and neck. The Legacy 855e is equipped with LR Baggs Element VTC electronics, offering soundhole-mounted controls for easy adjustments, and comes with a commemorative Legacy interior label. It ships with a deluxe hardshell case for premium protection.
