This unique custom guitar is built by the talented builders at Taylor Guitars. It features a new body shape introduced in 2020, known as the Grand Theater (GT). This smaller yet full-toned body shape was inspired by the overwhelming love for the affordable GS Mini among players. The demand for a solid wood version of the GS Mini led to the creation of the Grand Theater almost a decade later. The GT has a slightly longer body shape versus the GS Mini and that extra room will give this small shape an extra low-end response.  The tonewoods features AA grade Hawaiian Koa and Sinker Redwood top.  Hawaiian Koa guitars have been a staple for Taylor Guitars and Haggerty's Music just loves everything about Koa.  Hawaiian Koa is a gorgeous tonewood that has tiger strip flames on top of a luscious golden palette. Its beauty mesmerizes everyone who looks at it and is not only a great sounding tonewood, but if hung on a wall, turns into a work of art.  It has a unique trait in that over time, it will open up on the bass side and further expand the lower-end range.  On top, a Sinker Redwood is matched to the Koa back and sides.  Sinker Redwood has been a staple with Taylor Guitars for many years and is always an acceptable addition to any guitar.  Redwood only comes in one area of the planet, along the coast of California.  As its name implies, it has a red color in the wood. Sinker Redwood comes from one log that spent 80 years of its life at the bottom of the Mendocino River, till a storm came through and dislodged it.  Over the years, it has collected silt and minerals at the bottom of the river and you see in the top of Sinker Redwood.  The dark, randomized lines going up and down the top are evidence of the river.  Take the guitar outside and you'll see the reflection of light as if you're staring down at the bottom of a river bed.  Besides the cool story, this top sits between a spruce-top guitar and a cedar-top guitar.  It has a stiffness similar to spruce to give you the volume you require but retains a nice warmth that is reminiscent to a cedar top guitar.  The guitar comes equipped with the Expression System 2 and includes TaylorSense as a bonus.

This guitar was purchased at a dealer-only event.  This has been coined as the Taylor Custom Catch Guitar Event.  Every year Taylor Guitars showcases a selection of Custom guitars that feature options you cannot get from their standard custom shop options.  This provides a truly custom experience.  These options include unique tonewoods, inlays, bridge pins, rosette designs, finishes, and custom tuning buttons.
