You are viewing a special custom by Taylor Guitars. This guitar is built on the body shape of the Grand Auditorium body shape and is the preferred body shape for many players. Its medium size allows it to fit almost every customer and is known to have the projection of a dreadnought body shape, however its pinched in waist allows it to sit lower on your lap. It is strung up with light gauge strings that allow players to fingerpick the guitar or play lead and have the ability to bend the notes a whole step or more. Its applications are endless which makes it a favorite at the shop. Traditional tonewoods were paired together on this custom and Taylor Guitars put a spin on the Sitka Spruce top. They added a cool finish called, Charcoal Black. This is a transparent finish that allows you to see the grain of the Sitka top and gives it a new look on an acoustic guitar. The Sitka top is matched with East Indian Rosewood which has fantastic acoustic qualities that make it the tonewood of choice for many acoustic guitar players. It has great low-end response and great treble timbre, it is known for its projection and volume and also has notable overtones. The higher-grade rosewood picks out true quarter-sawn wood cut for increased strength and straight grain, but also unique colors of reds with a purplish hue. Beautiful, handcrafted work can be witnessed all over this guitar, including the wood/pearl combination (ebony/koa/abalone) of the purfling around the body that includes mitered edges that require the best craftspeople at Taylor Guitars. This is also witnessed on the back of the guitar that utilizes koa materials. Its fine work has to be seen and witnessed. The guitar comes equipped with the Expression System 2 and includes TaylorSense as an added bonus.
