An absolute work of art from Taylor, this Grand Auditorium features a new voice on one of Taylor’s most popular body styles and is ordained with the utmost care, precision, and beauty that we have seen come out of their factory.
Starting with the Sinker Redwood top that was taken from old-growth logs reclaimed from Northern California rivers and displays a rich variegation imparted from the silt and mineral-rich water. Due to the tight grain and cross-grain stiffness, this responds similarly to cedar with a bold response and warm overtones. Complimented on the back and sides by the finest Master Grade Koa with shaded edge burst gloss finish around that help aid the warmth with midrange focus and extra chime on the top end. Koa is also known to open up as it ages and is played more rewarding the player with a richer, sweeter, more resonant tone.
The neck on this guitar is a rare slim cut that takes the playability and comfort of a typical Taylor and amplifies it. This is especially great for electric guitarists that want something that feels more like their slimmer necks.
The ornamentation on this Grand Auditorium makes this guitar as stunning to look at as it is to play. As if the tone woods on this weren’t beautiful enough on their own to make this guitar visually stunning, Taylor masterfully added a tree out of Koa, Paua, and Black Oyster to the fingerboard. The headstock has Mother of Pearl inlay for the Taylor logo and Gotoh 510 Antique Gold tuners with Black Plastic Buttons.
This has Taylor’s ES-2 pick up so that if you need to amplify the guitar, you have the most accurate reproduction of the acoustic sound that Taylor has to offer. The controls are a master volume and 2 band EQ so that you can cater your tone to your atmosphere.
This guitar also ships with a Taylor deluxe hardshell case.
