The Fender® American Vintage II series offers a stunningly authentic representation of the groundbreaking designs that transformed music history. Each instrument is crafted with period-correct bodies, necks, and hardware, premium finishes, and meticulously voiced, year-specific pickups, capturing the essence of genuine Fender craftsmanship and tone.
Just one year after introducing the Broadcaster®, Fender faced a cease-and-desist from the Fred Gretsch Mfg. Co. and needed to rename its flagship electric guitar. Inspired by the rapid growth and reach of television, the first blackguard Telecaster rolled off the production line in 1951 and has been continuously produced ever since. This deceptively simple yet revolutionary model made solid-body electric guitars accessible to the masses, inspiring generations of musicians.
The American Vintage II 1951 Telecaster features a beautifully crafted ash body finished in Butterscotch Blonde, reflecting the tone and appearance of the original model. The substantial '51 "U"-shaped hard rock maple neck offers exceptional playability, complete with a 7.25" radius fingerboard and vintage tall frets. True to the 1951 production style, the narrow spacing of the 12th fret face dots and the unique Phillips-head fastener at the truss rod nut add to its authenticity. The classic triple brass saddle bridge, single-line "Fender Deluxe" tuners, and Pure Vintage '51 Telecaster pickups deliver that signature twang and iconic Fender style.
Instruments from the American Vintage II series are true descendants of the original Fenders, designed for players who cherish vintage tone and feel. Crafted with unparalleled quality down to the smallest detail, these are Fender electrics in their purest form: the Fender American Vintage II, truly the stuff of legends.
