One of the most iconic guitars of all time, the Flying V combines crisp rock n' roll tones with radical aesthetics, creating a truly revolutionary marriage of form and function. Now, this head-turning axe can be yours! Marking the bold return of one of Gibson’s most daring designs, the 1967 Mahogany Flying V Reissue captures the space-age elegance, roaring tone, and unmistakable attitude of a true rock icon. Originally reintroduced in 1967 with a sleeker silhouette and Maestro Vibrola tailpiece, the Flying V earned its place in the hands of some of the most fearless players of its time. This Custom Shop reissue faithfully recreates every detail of the highly coveted original—from body contours to electronics—offering an inspiring playing and ownership experience.

The solid mahogany body is finished in a striking gloss Sparkling Burgundy nitrocellulose lacquer, exuding vintage flair with modern refinement. A solid mahogany neck carved to a traditional 1960s SlimTaper™ “C” profile joins the body with a long tenon and hide glue fit, topped with an Indian rosewood fingerboard for warm tonal response and smooth playability. Pearloid dot inlays and authentic medium-jumbo frets complete the vintage-correct aesthetic.

Powered by a pair of unpotted Custombucker Alnico III humbuckers and a hand-wired control setup with CTS pots, this Flying V delivers rich, articulate tones with plenty of vintage character. The Maestro Vibrola tailpiece adds expressive pitch control and an elegant visual touch, while Kluson reissue tuners and chrome hardware round out the build. With a Custom Shop hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity included, this reissue is a stunning homage to one of Gibson’s boldest instruments — available now at Haggerty’s Music.
